The KRSU team won the cup at the VII Pediatric Games!

November 16 in the conference hall of KSMA named after. Academician I.K. Akhunbaev hosted the VII Games of Pediatricians, organized by the oldest and leading medical university in the country. The first such games were held in 2016 on the initiative of the student scientific circle on pediatrics «Pediat Alumni», which is supervised by associate professor Daniyar Amatov.

The 7th was also held in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Department of Childhood Diseases of KSMA. 4 teams took part:

• «Dream team» representing the host university;
• «Burnt by shift» – KRSU named after. B. Yeltsin;
• «VitAminki» – from the Kazakh National Medical University named after. S.J. Asfendiyarov (KNMU);
• «Ortu Solis» («Rising Sun») – from the Termez branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy.

These games were started by KSMA students Ildar and Omurbek, whose singing duo perfectly performed a lyrical song about Bishkek for the audience. They were replaced by the hosts of the competition – the elegant Genghis Khan and the charming Cholpon, whose welcoming address to the hall in three languages (Kyrgyz, Russian and English) predetermined the linguistic component of the games.

After the national anthem of Kyrgyzstan, the presenters introduced all participating teams and gave the floor to the guests of honor and heads of delegations.

The participants of the Games were given farewell words by the Patriarch of Russian Pediatrics, Academician D. Kudayarov, Vice-Rector of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, envoys of the Kazakh National Medical University and the Termez branch of the Tashkent State Medical University, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of KRSU, Professor A. Zarifyan. Representatives of the organizations sponsoring the games also lifted the spirits of the teams.

Next, the hall was presented with a highly competent jury headed by the head. Department of Children's Infections of KSMA, Professor Zuura Dzholbunova.

The first part of the games was occupied by scientific battles between the teams. There were four of them in total: 2 in Russian and the same number – in English. Each of the fights involved 3 combatants: a speaker, an opponent and a reviewer. The task was given to them in advance and represented a specific clinical case. The speaker carefully analyzed it and, after in-depth analysis, made a diagnosis and prescribed treatment.

The opponent started a discussion about the rapporteur's decision, and the reviewer assessed both the first and the second.

Participants were graded on a 10-point system. Moreover, for the speaker they were multiplied by a factor of 1, for the opponent – by 0.8, and for the reviewer – by 0.4. Thus, each team could receive a maximum of 22 points.

The conditions of the task for each fight were both voiced and reflected on the screen, so that the audience was fully included in the competition situation and could trace it from the beginning to the announcement of the jury's verdict.

Judging by the reaction of the audience, everyone present was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the participants, their erudition, ability to think analytically, ability to discuss and defend their opinions, especially in English.

As a result, after this round of competition, places in terms of total points were distributed as follows: KSMA – 20.3 b., KNMU – 19.0 b., Termez branch of Tash. GMU – 18.1 b, KRSU – 17.8 b.

However, 3 competitions were still expected ahead, in particular such as «At first sight» – the famous game «4 pictures – 1 word» on medical topics. In it, 2 points were awarded for each correct answer, and the number of pictures was 10.

Yes, by the way, it cannot be omitted that in the intervals between competitions we had the pleasure of watching commercials of participating universities and organizations sponsoring the games.

But – back to the competition part. The third competition was called «Capricious Parent» and was a show by each team of a skit (sketch), in which «a doctor» and a person who came to see him «capricious parent» with a dummy child in their arms participated. At the same time, the parent did not so much help as interfere with the doctor with his chaotic behavior. However, the doctor had to correctly make a diagnosis, prescribe an examination and provide first aid immediately, or prescribe treatment, for which he could receive from 1 to 10 points.

Finally, the 4th competition was truly a «brainstorming» – test control containing 20 difficult questions from different sections of pediatrics. No more than 30 seconds were given to respond.

With each competition, the struggle became tense, the score amounts changed, and the ordinal places – too.

And so, to everyone’s joy, at the end of the 3rd hour of the games, the jury summed up the results and allowed them to be announced.

3rd place was shared by the Kazakh (KSMU) and Uzbek (Tash Termez branch) teams. GMU) colleagues. The KSMA team was in 2nd place. And for the 1st (second time in a row), with a slight lead in points, «the Slavs» came out, earning an impressive winning cup and 1st degree medals.

Here are the names of our heroes: Zhakshylyk Shapykov, Dmitry Bush, Nikitand Reznikov, Alexander Timokhin, Shabdan Isamadyrov, Alexander Atamashkin, Yashvantkhnadkh Manchukonda and Raisa Makarova. Among the teachers involved in the training of children are: deputy Dean for Pediatrics, Professor Sh. Sulaimanov, Head. Department of Infectious Diseases E. Radchenko, senior teachers of the Department of Pediatrics S. Zeyvald and M. Naumova.

The main achievement of the Games was the atmosphere of friendship, youth, happy emotions, gratitude to the organizers of the Games – Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after. academician. AND. Akhunbaeva.

After the awards were presented, the idea arose to make these games playable and be held at different venues. And the honor of holding the next, 3rd games of pediatricians went to the medical faculty of KRSU.
