Conference at KRSU: Kyrgyzstanis in the Great Patriotic War
At the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU), within the framework of the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Russia in the 21st Century: The Great Patriotic War and Historical Memory», organized by the Russian Academy of Sciences, a section was held dedicated to the contribution of Kyrgyzstanis to the liberation of Soviet territories during the Great Patriotic War. The moderator was Leonid Ivanovich Sumarokov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU, who noted the importance of preserving historical truth and the role of Kyrgyzstan in military events.
The section featured reports revealing various aspects of Kyrgyzstanis' involvement in the war:
1. Falsification of the results of the Second World War as an attempt to create pseudo-history – report by Chinara Kashkaraeva, senior lecturer at the Department of International Relations KRSU.
2. Heroes of the Soviet Union – Kyrgyzstanis in the battles for the complete liberation of the USSR – report by students of the Faculty of International Relations Myrzayim Sagynbek kyzy and Madina Almazbekova.
3. Descendants of the generation of winners about the feat of Kyrgyzstanis in the war – work of students Arina Chernyshova and Kamilla Rysova, based on the memories of teachers and students of KRSU.
4. The contribution of Kyrgyzstanis in the war on the pages of newspapers of the Kyrgyz SSR – study by students Daria Vesela and Yegor Kostikin.
5. Caricature in «Soviet Kyrgyzstan» during the war – report by students Igor Lyogonky, Gleb Mikhin and Elena Osipova, analyzing the features of Soviet war propaganda.
6. Heroism of Kyrgyz police officers on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War – report by Professor Askar Dzhakishev, Doctor of Historical Sciences.
7. Kyrgyz generals in the battles for the liberation of the USSR – report by Leonid Ivanovich Sumarokov, dedicated to the military command from Kyrgyzstan.
8. The role of student activists in preserving historical memory – report by Aigerim Abasbekova and Asel Usenova, presenting the work of the student search movement KRSU.
As part of the conference, an award ceremony was held for KRSU students and participants in the search movement «Search 41-45». Vice-Rector for Youth and Information Policy Stanislav Kulikov emphasized that the participation of young people in such events — is not only a way to express respect for the memory of their ancestors, but also a guarantee of preserving historical truth in the minds of future generations.
