Competition «Dictionary – this is the Universe in alphabetical order. This is a book of books»
Institute of Russian Language named after. A. O. Orusbaev Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. The first President of the Russian Federation B. N. Yeltsin is holding a competition from February 20 to April 15, 2025 «Dictionary – this is the Universe in alphabetical order. This is a book of books».
We invite teachers of Russian language and literature of secondary schools of the Kyrgyz Republic with Russian, Kyrgyz, Uzbek languages of instruction (grades 5 – 11) to take part in the competition for conducting a dictionary lesson <TAG1>Learning with a dictionary«.
Event – to mark the 125th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding linguist Sergei Ivanovich Ozhegov (1900-1964).
The competition is aimed at developing the professional competencies of teachers in the field of developing lexicographic skills of students, as well as popularizing work with the dictionary as an important tool for learning the Russian language.
Requirements for competitive works
- The work (article with a video fragment of the lesson) must be in Russian with a note about the language of instruction (Russian, Kyrgyz or Uzbek).
- Article – with a description of the author's methodological developments of the lesson, dedicated to working with a dictionary, with a detailed description of the lesson, a theory confirming relevance, novelty, practical significance, with convincing conclusions, analysis of emerging difficulties and recommendations for overcoming them. - The article must be accompanied by a video fragment of the lesson demonstrating the application of the author’s methodology in practice. The video must be recorded in the context of a real educational process with schoolchildren.
- Present the video fragment of the lesson (working with a dictionary) in MP4 format in pixels resolution 1920x1080 or 1280x720 duration 5 – 7 minutes.
The video fragment can be created using any available video devices – mobile phone camera, smartphone, digital camera, tablet computer, professional or amateur video camera.
Please note: the video recording of the lesson should reflect the real educational process. Please check the sound and picture quality before shipping!
- At the beginning of the video fragment, the last name and first name of the teacher, educational institution, locality, region are indicated.
- A prerequisite: originality of the material (works are checked for plagiarism, borrowings from the Internet, as well as the use of other people’s methodological developments without attribution).
All materials (article, video fragment of the lesson) must be submitted before 31 March 2025 by email: center_russ@mail.ru
In the subject line, specify: «Competition_Dictionary_lesson“_Participant’s full name_School».
Evaluation criteria:
- Originality and novelty of the technique.
- Practical applicability of the methodology in Russian language and literature lessons.
- Quality of material (logicality, student involvement, visibility).
Summing up – April 15, 2025. The results of the Competition will be published on the KRSU website in the «News» section https://www.krsu.edu.kg/ and on the website of the Institute of Russian Language named after. A.O. Orusbaeva KRSU https://irya.krsu.edu.kg/
The works of the competition winners will be published in the magazine «Russian Word in Kyrgyzstan», and their authors – will be awarded diplomas and memorable prizes.
