KRSU and MEPhI extend scientific and educational partnership
On July 9, 2025, a working meeting was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University with a representative of the National Research Nuclear University «MEPhI». The parties discussed specific steps to implement the cooperation agreement signed a year earlier.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities of KRSU Evgeny Shekunov and Head of the International Relations Department Yulia Kalyuzhnaya. NRNU «MEPhI» was represented by Vice-Rector Dmitry Savkin.
The main issue on the agenda was the development of joint educational programs and scientific projects. Focus on — launching networked bachelor's programs in physical and mathematical areas and master's programs in promising disciplines: medical physics, nuclear medicine and medical nanotechnology.
«We see great potential in joining academic efforts with MEPhI. This will give our students access to advanced knowledge and research in the field of nuclear and medical technologies», — noted Evgeny Shekunov.
MEPhI Vice-Rector Dmitry Savkin confirmed the Russian side’s interest in developing academic exchange and implementing joint research projects in the field of nanotechnology. In addition, the organization of a visiting physics intensive for KRSU students was discussed.
Finally, the parties agreed to exchange specific proposals for joint programs by July 31 and appointed responsible coordinators to synchronize curricula and further interaction.
Such initiatives are a logical continuation of the cooperation agreement between universities signed on June 27, 2024. The document provides for a wide range of partnerships in the fields of education, science, academic mobility and exchange of teaching staff.
