KRSU and the Russian Cultural Center «Harmony» began a series of events for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War
The Russian Cultural Center «Harmony» and the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) opened a series of popular science events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The first action took place at a school at the Russian airbase «Kant», where a historical and documentary exhibition was launched «They covered their lives». At the event, schoolchildren were told about the everyday life of Kyrgyz border guards during the Great Patriotic War.
The exhibition was created based on the results of research work of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU and supported by the Center «Harmony». Previously, it was presented at the National Historical Museum of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Vice-President of the Center «Harmony» Semyon Yakovlevich Polyakov, Director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU Leonid Sumarokov, as well as members of the student search club «Search 41-45» Aigerim Abasbekova and Asel Usenova spoke to the schoolchildren. They talked about the heroic pages of the history of border guards who guarded state borders during the war, and about their participation in key battles.
At the end of the meeting, schoolchildren were shown videos about the exploits of the winning generation, created by KRSU search engine students. These materials called on young people to preserve the historical memory of the fight against fascism in 1941–1945.
