KRSU on Sputnik Kyrgyzstan radio: the role of cartoons during the Great Patriotic War
On the air of Sputnik Kyrgyzstan radio, representatives of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University spoke about the significance of cartoons from the Great Patriotic War. The program was attended by Leonid Sumarokov, director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU, and students of the Department of International Journalism Igor Lyogonky, Gleb Mikhin and Elenna Osipova, members of the student search group «Search 41-45».
Leonid Sumarokov noted that during the war, cartoons played an important role in propaganda and maintaining morale. He emphasized that the archives of KRSU indicate a significant contribution of Kyrgyz artists, whose cartoons and posters were actively used for campaigning, published in newspapers and placed on the streets of the Kyrgyz SSR.
During the broadcast, students shared their discoveries. Igor Lyogonky spoke about the found posters and cartoons created by artists of Kyrgyzstan, which, despite difficult conditions, inspired people to achieve labor and military exploits. Gleb Mikhin emphasized that participation in the project made it possible to further study the cultural heritage of the war and its impact on society.
KRSU continues to pay great attention to the study and popularization of historical and cultural heritage, and the participation of students in such projects contributes to their professional and personal development.
