KRSU opens up a new line of learning — bilingual teacher education
This year KRSU opens a new direction of study — bilingual teacher education. Graduates of the department will be able to teach in Russian and Kyrgyz languages in schools. Listen to the full interview in the audio recording.
On the air of Sputnik Kyrgyzstan radio, the dean of the Faculty of Humanities of KRSU Nargiz Baudinova said that training in bilingual education will last four years.
"We will train teachers of biology, mathematics, physics, Russian language and chemistry. They will study in a bilingual environment, that is, they will be taught in two languages at once — Russian and Kyrgyz. Teachers from the Faculty of Humanities will teach; in addition, we plan to attract colleagues from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology. We decided to open this area of study because we understand that there is a serious shortage of teachers in the country, especially in the regions," Baudinova said.
