KRSU celebrated International Mother Language Day with gifts for schools
On International Mother Language Day, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University presented two schools in Bishkek with stands for Russian language and literature classrooms.
In addition to the stands, representatives of KRSU presented schoolchildren with books published by the university publishing house and revealing the life and work of people who created and created on Kyrgyz soil using the Russian language.
The celebrations, held on February 21 at secondary school № 52 and the school of St. Prince Vladimir, were attended by the rector of KRSU Vladimir Nifadiev, vice-rector for information and public relations Leonid Sumarokov, deputy director of the Russian Language Institute Olga Sumarokova.
In his speech, the rector of the university, Vladimir Nifadiev, made an important statement, noting that in the Year of the Russian Language, held in 2023 in the CIS, and in connection with the 30th anniversary of the creation of KRSU, the university initiated the installation of a monument to Russian and Kyrgyz teachers in Bishkek. The monument project was developed by the creative team of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction.
«The creation of the monument will serve to preserve the historical memory of those who laid the foundations of education in Kyrgyzstan, – said Vladimir Nifadiev, – and the stands will help teachers and schoolchildren master the Russian language, which has always been the language of creation».
In early 2023, KRSU donated stands for Russian language and literature classrooms to four schools in Osh and Chui oblasts. In 2021-2023, the university helped equip classrooms in schools in Chui, Issyk-Kul, Naryn, Osh and Batken regions.
This is how the activity of educational institutions and schoolchildren in competitions and olympiads held by KRSU as part of its work to support the Russian language was noted. The stands for the Russian language and literature room were made at KRSU based on the author’s project of the Deputy Director of the Institute of Russian Language, Doctor of Historical Sciences Olga Sumarokova. According to teachers, they provide students with the opportunity to take a fresh look at the discipline they are studying «Russian language», and also serve as an effective tool for achieving practical, general education and developmental goals.
