KRSU is presented at KazanForum as a flagship university of Russia in Central Asia

At the International Economic Forum «Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum» in Kazan, the rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Sergei Volkov presented the experience of KRSU as a flagship Russian university in Central Asia and a platform for interaction with the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.In his speech, Sergei Volkov noted that KRSU today serves as a humanitarian, scientific and educational bridge between Russia, Kyrgyzstan, the states of Central Asia and the countries of the Islamic world.«KRSU is a humanitarian, scientific and educational bridge between Russia, Kyrgyzstan, the states of Central Asia and the countries of the Islamic world», said the rector.According to Volkov, over the past two years the university has been undergoing a large-scale transformation, moving from a quantitative growth model to a model «quality above quantity». KRSU has introduced a new educational architecture, within the framework of which, over four years of study, a student receives three educational documents, two specialties and one year of practical training in partner companies.The rector emphasized that KRSU remains the only platform in Kyrgyzstan that ensures the integration of Russian and Kyrgyz educational standards with the issuance of two state diplomas.Special attention in the speech was paid to the role of the Russian language and bilingual education.«High-quality command of the Russian language in bilingualism is becoming a professional career resource for young people in Central Asian countries», noted Sergei Volkov.The university is also actively developing youth policy and the student environment. Over two years, the proportion of students involved in social and extracurricular activities increased from 10.8 to 24 percent.According to KRSU, the university today implements 239 cooperation agreements, more than 70 percent of which are concluded with Russian universities and organizations. The university has almost a thousand international students, most from Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries.Separately, Sergei Volkov focused on developing interaction with industrial partners. In 2025, the volume of investments by partners in the development of the university exceeded 60 million soms. By 2030, KRSU plans to increase this figure to 250 million soms.The rector called the construction of a new campus KRSU in the Chui region, supported by the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, the key infrastructure project. The university has already received a plot of land and is moving on to the design stage.«Starting the design stage. I am sure that this campus, which will be built, among other things, by student teams from the CIS countries, will become a real home for students», noted Sergei Volkov.During his speech, the rector of KRSU also outlined the need to improve the regulatory framework regulating the activities of Slavic universities abroad.«Slavic universities today are absent from a number of regulatory documents. Because of this, restrictions arise, including when participating in scientific grants and youth programs. Here we need joint work and support from partner universities», added Sergei Volkov.Summing up the speech, the rector emphasized that the activities of Slavic universities abroad should remain a tool for Eurasian integration, strengthening humanitarian ties and promoting the Russian educational standard in the international space.
