KRSU takes part in the competition «Media-Nauruz» as part of the project «Greater Altai»
Journalists from ten universities and research centers in Central Asia will take part in the competition «Media-Nauruz» as part of the «Greater Altai project».
More than 30 journalistic materials on the topic of altaistics and Turkology were sent by the press services of ten universities and research centers of the countries of Greater Altai and Central Asia to the competition «Media-Nauruz», organized by the REC «Greater Altai» Altai State University.
The international competition for the best media coverage of the university’s scientific activities in the field of altaistics and Turkology started on March 21 as part of the project «Turkic world of Greater Altai: unity and diversity in history and modernity».
Among the Russian contestants are the press services of Altai, Gorno-Altai, Tuva State Universities, the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the SB RAS. From Kazakhstan – press service of the Kazakh National University named after. Al-Farabi, Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after. Abai, East Kazakhstan Technical University named after. D. Serikbaev, East Kazakhstan Regional Architectural, Ethnographic and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve. From Kyrgyzstan – press service of the Kyrgyz National University. Zhusup Balasagyn, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. B.N. Yeltsin, as well as the cultural and educational channel «Madaniyat Tarykh Til» of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
–We are holding this competition with the aim of popularizing the topic of altaistics and Turkology in the media space of the countries of Greater Altai and Central Asia and strengthening international information cooperation between universities and scientific institutes of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and other countries of the Central Asian region, – noted the head of the REC Altaistics and Turkology, President of Altai State University, Professor Sergei Zemlyukov.
According to the organizers of the competition, all materials submitted to the competition will be divided into two groups: original materials telling about significant events of the university or institute, as well as adapted materials prepared by the press service based on press releases received from their colleagues.
–The competition will help to see how our colleagues cover scientific events, present scientific research and educational programs in the field of Turkology, introduce readers to Turkology scientists, – said the head of the information center «Greater Altai» of Altai State University Yulia Yavinskaya. – Professional dialogue with colleagues is very important for us: we jointly try to make publications about the history and culture of the Turkic peoples more popular and widely discussed.
According to the organizers of the competition, all materials will be submitted for consideration to members of the international jury, which included representatives of four countries: General Director of the TV channel «Greater Asia» and the website «Bigasia.ru» Alexander Lebedev, head of the expert group «Turkic world in the media space of Greater Altai», Altai State University professor Alla Kovaleva, head of the Altai regional branch of the Guild of Interethnic Journalism, chief editor of the newspaper «Altai Pravda» Oleg Kupchinsky (Russia); professor of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. B.N. Yeltsin Gulmira Dzhunushalieva, editor-columnist of the Sputnik Kyrgyzstan news agency Taailaibek Oroskulov (Kyrgyzstan); Academician of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio, professor of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Laila Akhmetova (Kazakhstan), Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek Makhliye Mirsoatov (Uzbekistan).
The winners of the competition «Media-Nauruz» will be announced at the V International Educational Forum «Altai-Asia 2022: Eurasian educational space – new challenges and best practices», which will be held at Altai State University from September 15 to 17, 2022.
