An international conference of experts on earthquake-resistant construction was held in Bishkek, at which scientists and practitioners from Russia, Japan, India, Italy, Serbia and Central Asian countries spoke. The conference brought together leading experts to discuss issues of design and construction of facilities in earthquake-prone regions.
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University was represented at the conference by teachers of the departments «Construction» and «Ecology and protection in emergency situations» of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction, Professor V.S. Semenov. and Associate Professor Akmatov A.K. Their presentations focused on the use of the latest technologies to improve the seismic resistance of buildings.
The conference recommendations will be taken into account when developing projects for earthquake-prone regions, as well as in regulatory documents on earthquake-resistant construction.
