KRSU took part in the International Public Forum on Preserving the Memory of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War

Leonid Sumarokov, Candidate of Historical Sciences and head of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, took part in the International Public Forum «Towards the anniversary of the Victory on May 9, 2025 – We won together!».

The forum was organized by the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations «Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia and Africa» and the Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University. The purpose of the event is — to draw attention to the issues of preserving the historical memory of peoples and supporting the movement against the erosion of value and semantic aspects of history.

The forum discussed such important topics as the labor and heroic exploits of the peoples of the Central Asian republics of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War, their contribution to the Victory, as well as the importance of preserving the historical memory of the exploits of their ancestors for future generations. During the meeting, the issue of participation of Central Asian countries in the formation of the Eurasian Book of Memory was also touched upon.

The forum takes place in a hybrid format, bringing together participants both online and offline.
