Larisa Khoperskaya, director of the Center for Eurasian Studies KRSU, co-director of the Center for Eurasian Studies KRSU-RGGU, addressed the event participants with a welcoming speech. In her opinion, strengthening the attempts of revanchist forces to distort the history of the Second World War and neutralize the role of the Soviet people in the victory over Nazi Germany and its allies requires the consolidation of society and states based on strengthening the sense of involvement of citizens in a common great history.

Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations Leonid Sumarokov, speaking with a report «Kyrgyzstan in the Battle of Stalingrad: unknown pages of history for the benefit of future unity», focused on the need to build systematic research work to uncover unknown pages of the Great Patriotic War and establish the fate of front-line soldiers – soldiers, commanders of the Red Army, home front workers. Having talked about the results of his search, he noted that filling the space of historical memory with new evidence of the feat of the Soviet people will serve for the benefit of strengthening the spiritual unity of the peoples who defended the united Fatherland from the brown plague of fascism.

On February 21, as part of the International Network Platform «Start of a radical turning point: on the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi troops by Soviet troops in the Battle of Stalingrad», a public educational online lecture was held by the chief researcher of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mikhail Mukhin «Stalingrad.
