International Conference «Victory won by unity»
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University hosted an International Conference «Victory won by unity» dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). The conference was attended by scientists, students, WWII veterans and public figures from 8 countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Uzbekistan.
President of the Kyrgyz Republic A.Sh. addressed the participants of the international conference «Victory won by unity» dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War with a welcoming speech. Atambayev, Toraga Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Jeenbekov, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation S.E. Naryshkin.
At the plenary session, interesting reports were made by the Hero of Socialist Labor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences M.Ch. Zalikhanov (g. Moscow), President of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of International Journalism at MGIMO, member of the Union of Writers of Russia, Colonel General L.G. Ivashov (g. Moscow), Academician of the National Academy of Sciences, Professor A.Ch. Kakeev et al.
Handout material – books and monographs dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, prepared and written by scientists of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, has been prepared:
- Exploits of Kyrgyzstanis during the Second World War,
- Devotees of education, science and culture during the Second World War
- Remembers the Saved World
- Diary of junior lieutenant U. Abdykaimov,
- Photo album about WWII veterans, Photo album about Kyrgyzstan.
Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation S.E. Naryshkin wrote the Preface to the monograph «Exploits of Kyrgyzstanis during the Great Patriotic War», where he noted that «The victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War has worldwide historical significance and is a powerful factor in the consolidation of our peoples. Kyrgyzstanis, like representatives of other republics of the Soviet Union, made a serious contribution to the victory over fascism. Suffice it to recall the heroic Panfilov Guards Division, formed in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and which took part in the battles near Moscow....»
A large festive concert dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, organized by university students, was held in the Great Assembly Hall. Every veteran of the Great Patriotic War who took part in the International Conference «Victory won by unity» was awarded a memorable gift, books and a cash prize.
