International scientific and practical conference «Central Asian (Turkestan) uprising of 1916: history in documents»

Today, the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Central Asian (Turkestan) Uprising of 1916: history in documents» took place at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin.

Leading historians of the post-Soviet states of Central Asia, the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, representatives of government authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic, teachers and students of capital universities took part in the scientific forum.

The rector of KRSU, academician V.I. Nifadiev, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

The conference participants, guided by historical documents, gave a scientific assessment of the tragic events that took place a century ago on Kyrgyz soil, honored the memory of the victims of the uprising, and offered their contemporaries ways for the harmonious, conflict-free development of a multinational society in the name of its prosperity.

During the conference, the audience was presented with collections of documents dedicated to the events of the 1916 uprising in Central Asia and Semirechye. They contain historical evidence published for the first time, and in the form of images of originals. Thus, each researcher on a topic of concern was given the opportunity to delve into it based on genuine materials and draw their own conclusions.
