International scientific and practical conference «Linguistic diversity and dialogue of cultures» at KRSU
An international scientific and practical conference «Linguistic diversity and dialogue of cultures» was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, dedicated to the Day of Science and Innovation. The organizers were the Institute of World Civilizations and Languages and the Faculty of International Relations KRSU.
The conference brought together more than 60 scientists and teachers from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, CIS countries and foreign countries. Among the participants are — representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, leading universities in Kyrgyzstan, as well as research centers and universities from Russia, Spain, China and Turkmenistan. The main topic of the event was the interaction of languages, preserving their diversity and the role of language education in strengthening cultural traditions.
The breakout sessions covered topics such as
- linguistic diversity and preservation of minority languages;
- dialogue of cultures through language;
- cognitive aspects of linguistic diversity;
- foreign language teaching methods.
The vice-rector of KRSU for scientific and innovative activities, Evgeny Shekunov, and the Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan, Almanbet Matubraimov, delivered welcoming speeches.
Almanbet Matubraimov noted: «Universities in our country play a vital role in strengthening linguistic and cultural diversity. Such conferences contribute to the preservation of a unique heritage and the development of intercultural dialogue, which is especially important for the harmonious development of society».
At the plenary session, reports were made on language policy, intercultural interaction and teaching methods. KRSU professor Zamira Derbisheva spoke about trends in the language situation in Kyrgyzstan, and Professor Rafael Guzman from the University of Granada presented a study on Russian studies in Spain.
The Conference stressed the importance of linguistic diversity as a tool for strengthening mutual understanding and sustainable development of society.
KRSU continues to strengthen international scientific cooperation, bringing together scientists and students from all over the world.
