Young scientists spoke about English-language medical education in Kyrgyzstan
On February 9, an interuniversity scientific conference dedicated to the problems and challenges of English-language medical education in Kyrgyzstan, organized by the KRSU center for medical education of foreign students, was held in the main building of KRSU.
The purpose of the event is – to create motivation for the widespread use of English in solving issues of medical education in universities of Kyrgyzstan, to identify gifted personnel and ensure the realization of their creative potential; maintaining an atmosphere of friendship and interaction between the contingent of students from different universities in Kyrgyzstan.
The conference was chaired by teachers: professor A. Shanazarov (MSHM), Professor Yu. Shidakov and Associate Professor I. Abdumalikova (KRSU), professor E. Mamytova (KSMA named after. AND. Akhunbaeva), professor T. Tulekeev («Salymbekov University).
acting, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of KRSU, Associate Professor R. Karaeva, addressed the event participants with a welcoming speech. Head of the Department of Neurology and Clinical Genetics of KSMA, Professor E. Mamytova wished the participants creative success.
A special feature of the conference was that all the speakers spoke in English. Therefore, it united students, residents and graduate students of Bishkek universities studying in different medical specialties on one scientific platform.
A total of 20 reports were announced, but one more was heard! The conference participants were 39 people –these are students and young scientists (residents and graduate students) of KRSU, KSMA named after. AND TO. Akhunbaeva, institutions «Salymbekov University».
The speakers touched upon a wide variety of issues: problems of education of foreign students, key issues of adapting them to the conditions of the educational process in universities of Kyrgyzstan, various medical issues.
During the discussion, the position of students on reforming curricula, introducing new elective courses, reducing hours in some non-medical subjects, and organizing student leisure was heard.
The topics of the reports aroused keen interest among the audience; the atmosphere of scientific discussion was present throughout the event. In total, students asked over 60 questions, to which they received comprehensive answers.
At the end of the conference, all participants were awarded commemorative certificates.
The organizers hope that the event held at our university will take on the format of an annual event.
