International Dentist Day was celebrated at the medical department
On February 9, an interesting, exciting event for 1st year dental students – round table dedicated to World Dental Day took place at the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry KRSU. The main initiator of the action was the head of the department, associate professor Natalya Sushko.
The department teacher, 1st year curator Aizhan Nakenova coped superbly with the role of host of the event. The participants were pre-assigned to three teams («Poke Method», «Dental Formula» and «White Fang») of 7 people each.
The professional skills and creativity of the contestants were assessed by a jury consisting of representatives of the dean’s office, the aforementioned Natalya Yuryevna, the head teacher of the department of pediatric dentistry Mariyam Chikirova, the head teacher of the department of orthopedic dentistry Atakhan Yusupkhanov and the head teacher of the department of therapeutic dentistry Nelly Nigmatulina.
The program of the student competition included the following stages: business cards of teams, reports on the following topics: «History of dental medicine and the holiday of St. Apollonia», «Famous dentists of the world, their achievements», «New in dentistry», skit competition «My future profession», quiz (1 stage – team, 2 – battle of leaders).
It is worth noting that, although the student body was represented by freshmen, the struggle turned out to be serious. All teams showed maturity and originality of thinking, erudition, artistry and an extraordinary sense of humor.
Based on the total points, the first place was taken by the team «Poke Method», which received a 1st degree Diploma and the main prize – a halogen lamp provided by a dental store «Dent Trade». Second place went to the team «White Fang», which received a diploma and a branded watch. Third place was earned by the team «Dental Formula», which won the corresponding diploma and corporate calendar.
Each participant was presented with a textbook «Restoration Therapy», published by the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry and a gift set from GSK.
In addition, the following participants and participants received certificates: «For an original approach» – Salamat Urmatova, «For coordination and ability to quickly make decisions» – Oybek Abdurakhmanov, «For activity and enthusiasm» – Anastasia Kiseleva, «For the ability to conduct a discussion and defend your point of view» – Diana Dmitrieva, «For excellent oratorical skills» – Rufat Alimov.
Finally, based on the results of the quiz, 5 certificates for free professional teeth cleaning were awarded to fans and jury members at the KRSU dental center.
