The Faculty of Medicine held a poster competition «Chemistry in Dentistry»
23 December students of the specialty «Dentistry» of the Faculty of Medicine KRSU took part in the poster competition «Chemistry in dentistry» at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Objectives of the competition – development of the creative potential of students and their personal growth; develop skills for the effective use of modern information visualization tools; identifying and supporting creative and talented student youth.
The first such competition was held in December last year as an application for a useful creative movement and the development of cognitive interest and creativity in the field of biochemistry.
A month before the start of the new competition, team members received creative homework, including a poster «Chemistry in Dentistry».
Teams of 1st-2nd year dental students took part in the competition. A total of 79 students took part in the competition.
The jury included the head. department, associate professor N. Matyushchenko and her colleagues. They were supposed to evaluate the work for relevance and relevance to the topic, originality of information presentation, quality and content of execution.
The most pressing topics chosen by the participants of the competition were: vitamins in dentistry, chemistry of dental tissues, biochemistry of supra-dental formations, dental tissue proteins, fluoride and oral tissue health, biochemistry of oral fluids, toothpastes, etc. All works were beautifully and interestingly designed, the themes were revealed in full. Each participant tried to consider the problem from their own point of view, adding notes of creativity and sometimes humor to the poster.
The students decided to diversify the competition program by preparing videos «Let me introduce myself» and musical numbers. The teaching staff supported the creative initiative of the young and prepared a rebus competition, which included the most elementary, but at the same time specific issues of chemistry.

The winners and participants were awarded diplomas, certificates and received encouragement in the form of additional points to the rating in the disciplines studied at the department.
The competition will be remembered by all participants, including jury members, as an interesting, bright, fun and educational event that not only promotes learning, but also makes the life of the team brighter and more diverse. We hope that this initiative will become an annual event among students, providing the opportunity to enter interesting interuniversity venues, competitions and exhibitions!
