At the international conference of the Russian Academy of Sciences: KRSU students will talk about the exploits of Kyrgyzstanis during the Great Patriotic War
On October 24, the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Russia in the 21st Century: The Great Patriotic War and Historical Memory opened in Moscow. The decisive summer battles of 1943 on the fronts and behind the lines of the Nazi troops in the assessments of Soviet and German military leaders and historians». Students of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. B. Yeltsin.
Participants in plenary and sectional sessions – scientists and employees of scientific institutions and scientific and educational organizations; doctoral students, graduate students and undergraduates; teachers of educational institutions; students of universities, colleges and lyceums, high school students.
The conference was opened by Hero of Socialist Labor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mikhail Zalikhanov:
– The main goal of our conference is to conduct a scientific discussion of the arguments put forward by Western scientific schools, statements about the history of the Battle of Kursk, belittling the role of the victory of the USSR in it and denying this battle as a turning point in the Second World War.
Today, publications and ahistorical statements about climatic causes and random circumstances that led to temporary failures of the Wehrmacht on the eastern front, in particular near Kursk in 1943, are replete with various sources of information. In view of this, the organizing committee proposes to touch upon the following important aspects during the discussion: the military-political and strategic consequences of the defeat of Nazi Germany near Kursk, the reasons and methods of distorting these consequences in modern public consciousness and in Western history textbooks, the contribution of the partisan movement to the victory of Soviet troops near Kursk, historical, psychological and political aspects of rejection of the decisive role of the Soviet people in the Second World War and the deliberate distortion of its results reasons for different perceptions of the results of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War in the post-Soviet space.
Acting Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations KRSU Leonid Sumarokov addressed the conference participants:
–In conditions when, in pursuit of world hegemony, attempts by individual states to belittle the role of the Soviet Union and its peoples in the victory over Nazi Germany and its allies in World War II are becoming increasingly aggressive and arrogant, the post-Soviet space, all peace-loving forces must unite and protect the memory of our great ancestors, exalt their feat and become proud of it many times over. This is the only way we will repel provocateurs!
Uniting the descendants of the victors and strengthening their spiritual and moral forces is the best response to the revisionists of the results of the battle against German Nazism and an important condition in the implementation of the development plans of their countries. In this regard, we must sing the praises of those who, fighting on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and in the deep rear, showed unprecedented military and labor heroism, bringing the Great Victory Day closer. The fates of many of our compatriots who contributed to this noble cause still remain unsolved.
In the year of the 80th anniversary of the victory of Soviet troops in the Battle of Kursk, the problem of returning the names of unknown heroes from oblivion should be placed among the priority and especially important state tasks. It is determined by the need to preserve the historical memory of the generation of winners, strengthen the spiritual and moral unity of society, radically improve the civic and patriotic education of youth and youth, and recreate past friendly ties between the peoples of the former Soviet republics.
Restoring the names of the soldiers who defended the Fatherland from the brown plague of fascism, describing the episodes of their military actions require an idea of justice, the need to fill the memory space with new evidence of the feat of the people. This is the only way we can counteract the forces eager to rewrite the history of Victory.
On October 25, students of the Kyryz-Russian Slavic University will make presentations as part of the section «Kursk Diary of Kyrgyzstan». Students will present new facts of heroic achievements kyrgyzstanis during the Great Patriotic War, who will testify to the greatest feat of Soviet man in the battle against fascism.
