Awarded for the memory of the heroes of the Fatherland
On May 5, at the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Kyrgyz Republic, medals of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation «In Memory of Heroes of the Fatherland» were awarded.
Among the recipients are employees of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin – Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations, Candidate of Historical Sciences Leonid Sumarokov, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction, Professor, Doctor of Architecture Ravil Muksinov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Russian Language, Doctor of Historical Sciences Olga Sumarokova.
As stated in the order of the Russian Minister of Defense, Army General S. Shoigu, the award was made for high achievements in the field of military history, humanitarian knowledge and the implementation of public projects of a historical and patriotic nature.
Ravil Muksinov – one of the authors of the monument to the siege survivors of Leningrad in Bishkek, symbolizing the help of Kyrgyzstanis to the children of the besieged city evacuated during the Great Patriotic War to the Kyrgyz SSR.
Leonid and Olga Sumarokov are the authors of a number of scientific publications that describe the unknown exploits of about a hundred Kyrgyz soldiers on the fronts of the battle against fascism. Based on the results of their scientific research, memorial plaques were installed in memory of the heroes of the Fatherland in Bishkek, Osh, and Karakol.
It should be noted that Olga Sumarokov is the granddaughter, and Ravil Muksinov and Leonid Sumarokov are the sons of front-line soldiers who defended Leningrad.
