About the trip of Russian scholars KRSU to the I International Linguistic and Cultural Forum
The delegation of Russian scholars KRSU returned from a trip to the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia for the I International Linguoculturological Forum «Linguoculturology and communicative reality of the 21st century: new challenges – new understanding».
This large-scale event was initiated by three parties: RUDN University, ROPRYAL and KRSU. The host party was RUDN University represented by the Institute of Russian Language.
The forum brought together Russian scholars from Russian universities, universities in the CIS countries and from Slavic universities in Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The extensive program of the forum included welcoming speeches and reports on linguistic and cultural issues at the plenary session on October 19 and scientific messages with their discussions at breakout sessions on October 20. All reports of linguists were bright and meaningful in considering both general problems of modern linguistics and linguoculturology, and specific issues affecting the area of interaction between language and culture, as well as the application of the Russian language in various fields throughout the Russian world.
The forum also included an international conference «Russian language as the basis of interethnic peace». And after the breakout sessions and conference, associate professors and professors of RUDN University conducted 4 elective master classes and a scientific seminar for guests from different universities «Russian language in the interdisciplinary field of scientific research». After all the events, the official closing of the forum took place with photography, mutual recognition and a gala dinner.
If we return to the beginning of the event, it is worth recalling that in April 2023, on the basis of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, a summit of Slavic universities «Slavic Horizon-2023» was held, which was organized by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science in partnership with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University to discuss development programs of Russian-national (Slavic) universities in the CIS for 2023-2025. It noted that «Slavic universities play an important role in training national personnel, in strengthening Russia’s partnerships with Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan» and «are the main platforms in the CIS countries for promoting the Russian language and culture, and help strengthen the position of Russian education abroad».
In this regard, before the start of the forum, on October 18, a number of working meetings were organized with delegations to discuss events and tasks to develop partnerships between Russian-national universities in different directions: a working meeting with the Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission of Russia, President of RUDN University V. Filippov, Round table with representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and Rossotrudnichestvo «On information support and educational activities of Russian-national (Slavic) universities», meeting on forms of support for the Russian language in Russian-national universities, presentation of Russian electronic library systems at the educational and scientific library center of RUDN University, as well as a visit to the publishing house «Russian language. Courses». All contact formats turned out to be fruitful for the participants in terms of discussing, formulating and updating tasks for the implementation of the development program for each of the Slavic universities outside Russia in cooperation with Russian education and science for the next two years.
The organizers of the reception also took care of the rest of the delegations who came to the capital: on the first day of their stay in Moscow, delegations from universities in different countries were able to get to know each other better during the welcome dinner, and the next day they could go together to the Maly Theater and the Conservatory.
