Appeal from Professor A. Zarifyan to doctors KRSU

Dear graduates and senior students of the KRSU medical faculty!

I am sure that many of you professionally monitor the epidemic situation in the country and specifically in our capital. I think that you, who have special knowledge, do not need to explain how difficult a period of trials all of us, residents of Kyrgyzstan, now have to overcome!

Last week, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic asked medical universities to provide lists of teachers and residents who could actively help in the fight against Covid. We've already done this. However, there is still a catastrophic shortage of doctors, paramedics, and nurses! It is no coincidence that the capital’s mayor’s office, which recently opened temporary hospitals in every district of Bishkek, asks all persons related to medicine to respond and work in them.

I, too, as the dean of the faculty and an older friend, address you, young colleagues. Let's not stand aside from the common misfortune! Right now you have the chance to fulfill your medical duty – to help the country and people in a difficult battle with an invisible, insidious enemy, who must be opposed by our unity, professionalism, compassion and care for people.

I would also suggest opening a call center at the faculty, because yesterday and today I felt how much people who have already been overtaken by illness need qualified advice!
