At the center of the plenary session «From knowledge to capital: universities as an assembly point for cooperation projects with the state and industry» is the question of how to make the interaction between universities, the state and business practical and results-oriented.

The moderator was the rector of KRSU Sergey Volkov. Representatives of universities, business and government institutions discussed the personnel requirements of the economy, the participation of industrial partners in student training, the development of applied research, the capabilities of artificial intelligence and new requirements for university teams.

Chairman of the Board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund Artem Novikov noted that today one of the key issues for business is not only the search for capital, but also the staffing of enterprises. According to him, it is important for students at the university to learn to work with real tasks, resources and projects, and scientific developments should have the opportunity for piloting and further commercialization.

Deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo Natalia Kiseleva proposed more actively using Russian-Kyrgyz university consortia as platforms where business can formulate a specific request, and several universities can combine competencies to solve it.

A practical example of such interaction was the cooperation of KRSU with «Altyn Alliance». Deputy General Director of the company Konstantin Chuprin spoke about internships and paid internships for students, joint research and the creation of a computer class at the university to work with specialized software. The company is also involved in equipping the KRSU.
simulation center
A separate topic was the transformation of education itself. Rector of St. Petersburg Pedagogical University Peter the Great Andrei Rudskoy noted that with the development of artificial intelligence, the role of the teacher is changing: he becomes not only a source of knowledge, but also a guide who helps the student work with information and master the profession. At the same time, the training of specialists must take place in constant conjunction with the industry.

Director of the Center for Educational Transformation at the Skolkovo School of Management Olga Nazaikinskaya drew attention to another condition for change - the readiness of university teams to work with an external circuit. According to her, not only rectors, but also directors of institutes, heads of educational programs, laboratories and projects should interact with industry, regions and other partners. Among the key competencies of such teams, she highlighted strategic vision, practical expertise, the ability to attract resources and strong specialists.

«The university today is not only a place of knowledge transfer. This is a space where competencies are formed for the economy, science, social sphere and public administration, where engineering, natural science, humanities and management education are combined, and technologies, including artificial intelligence, become a tool for human development, and not a replacement for thinking and responsibility», — noted Sergei Volkov.

Summing up the discussion, the rector of KRSU emphasized that a modern university is no longer only a place for the transfer of knowledge, but a space where competencies are formed for the economy, science, social sphere and public administration. And the transformation of universities is impossible without the development of management teams themselves.
