A meeting of the Academic Council was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The agenda included the results of the 2026 admissions campaign, the university’s personnel policy, the formation of academic councils of academic departments, the preparation of a new composition of the Academic Council of KRSU, as well as a number of organizational issues.The meeting began with an award ceremony for university staff and partners. Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic were separately noted for interdepartmental cooperation, contribution to the educational activities of KRSU and the training of specialists in the field of protecting the population and territories from emergency situations.The winners of the Eurasian Development Bank competition in public-private partnership also received awards. The awards were presented to the participants by a representative of the EDB, noting the importance of developing competencies in the field of PPP and further cooperation with the university.Awards and commendations were also received by KRSU staff and students who took part in organizing major university events.Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov thanked the students who work in the teams of organizers and volunteers of the university.«We hold large events on our own: our students become presenters, organizers and volunteers. Thanks to the guys for their contribution to university life. I am confident that the number of students who are involved in the general work and develop KRSU together with us will grow», noted Sergei Volkov.One of the main issues of the meeting was the results of the work of the selection committee. The report was presented by the executive secretary of the admissions committee, vice-rector for scientific and innovation activities Evgeniy Shekunov. As of September 30, 3,782 people were enrolled in KRSU - almost a thousand more than in the previous two years. All 555 places financed by the Russian Federation are completely closed following the results of the main and additional stages of admission. Under grants from the Kyrgyz Republic, out of 295 allocated places, 214 were filled.The university also noted a high interest in contract training: a competition of up to two or three people per place was formed at a number of study programs. KRSU received applicants from all regions of Kyrgyzstan, and the number of those enrolled with citizenship of the Russian Federation, including holders of dual citizenship, amounted to 264 people. When discussing the results of admission, special attention was paid to further improving the quality of enrollment, developing career guidance work and analyzing the demand for educational programs.Another key topic was the personnel policy of KRSU in the context of the transition to a new institutional model. The head of the Personnel Department, Nailya Valitova, made a report. She presented the results of work on personnel support for the new university structure and priorities for further development of the personnel management system.Today KRSU employs 1,458 employees. One of the priorities is to attract and retain young specialists, develop a personnel reserve and create employment opportunities for students within the university. KRSU is already creating additional jobs for students, and in the future this work is planned to be supplemented with a system of internships and mentoring.Special attention is paid to the professional development of employees. In 2026, the proportion of teaching staff who received advanced training and professional retraining as part of activities related to the program «Priority 2030» was 67%. The development of a mentoring system for young professionals, new employees and employees moving to new positions was also discussed. In the future, personnel policy should cover the entire professional path of an employee - from attraction and adaptation to training, performance assessment and career development.A significant block of the meeting was devoted to updating the university management system after the transition of KRSU to the institute model. The Academic Council reviewed the Regulations on the Academic Councils of Academic Units and the regulations for their formation. Such councils will be created at the Socio-Humanitarian Institute, the Institute of Clinical Medicine and Biomedical Technologies, the Polytechnic Institute and the L. S. Vygotsky Academy of Education.The new unified procedure determines the powers of academic councils of academic departments, the principles of their formation and representation of employees and students. The term of office will be five years, with the boards comprising both ex officio representatives of the units and elected staff and students. The formation of new academic councils of academic departments is planned to be carried out in October.The provisions on the procedure and procedure for electing the Academic Council of KRSU and on the Conference of University Workers and Students were also considered. The conference is scheduled to be held on November 25, 2026. One of its main tasks will be the election of a new composition of the Academic Council KRSU. It is expected to include 70 people: 35 ex-officio members and 35 elected representatives, including representatives of the student community.The considered decisions are aimed at further setting up the new organizational model of KRSU, developing human resources and creating a management system that meets the objectives of the next stage of university development.
