KRSU summed up the results of the 2026 admissions campaign
At a meeting of the Academic Council of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, the results of the 2026 admissions campaign were presented. The report was made by the executive secretary of the KRSU admissions committee, vice-rector for scientific and innovation activities Evgeniy Shekunov. As of September 30, 3,782 people were enrolled in the university. This is almost a thousand more than in the previous two years: in 2024, KRSU received 2,892 people, in 2025 - 2,545. At the same time, the admissions campaign is still ongoing: enrollment in graduate school is being completed, admission to basic PhD doctoral programs and English-language educational programs continues. One of the main results of the campaign was the complete closure of places financed by the Russian Federation. This year the university was allocated 555 budget places. The highest competition for budget places was recorded in «Economy» - 125 people per place, «Jurisprudence» - 100, «General Medicine» - 91, «International Relations» - 77 and «Psychology» - 52 people per place.Another 295 places were allocated under grants from the Kyrgyz Republic, of which 214 were closed. The most difficult recruitment remains for «Religious Studies», «Instrumentation» and «Preschool Education» in the secondary vocational education system. These results will form the basis for revising educational programs and strengthening career guidance work. The competition was also formed on a contract form of training. In «General Medicine», «Dentistry», «Economics», «International Relations», «Psychology» and «Software Engineering» it was about two people per place, and in some areas it reached three.Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov noted that when planning the next admissions campaign, the university needs to take into account not only the number of applicants, but also the quality of enrollment.«It is important for us to analyze in which areas the average score is decreasing, and take this into account, to create the number of contract places. Our task is not just to increase reception, but to improve the quality of recruitment», - emphasized Sergei Volkov. The geography of applicants also continues to expand. In 2026, applicants from all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic were enrolled in KRSU. The largest number of applicants are from Jalal-Abad region, 289 people, and Osh region - 193. 96 people came from the Talas region. The geography of admission from the Russian Federation has also expanded. This year, 264 people with Russian citizenship, including holders of dual citizenship, became KRSU students. Applicants came from different regions of Russia - from Moscow and the Moscow region to Siberia and the Far East.As a result of the report, it was noted that the growth in the number of students poses new challenges for the university - from improving the quality of enrollment and developing career guidance to further expanding the educational infrastructure.
