The grand opening of the historical and documentary exhibition "Born in the Sky of the Tien Shan", dedicated to the feat of Kyrgyz pilots during the Great Patriotic War, took place at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The uniqueness of the event lay in its format – the teleconference united Bishkek, Malaya Vishera and Lugansk, emphasizing the unity of memory of the heroic past.

The exhibition, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was the result of large-scale research work by the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU of Leonid Sumarokov.

The main goal of the project is not only to preserve the memory of the heroism of the pilots who contributed to the defeat of fascism, but also to involve the younger generation in studying little-known pages of the history of the Great Victory.

The event opened with a fragment of the film "Chronicle of a Dive Bomber," which set the emotional tone for the entire meeting.

Vice-Rector for Youth and Information Policy of KRSU Stanislav Kulikov emphasized that the exhibition – is the result of painstaking archival and search work.

«During the war, our peoples were united in their feat. Preserving this memory is our duty. The exhibition allows you to look into the real stories of those who fought in the skies over Europe and feel the scale of their feat», — noted the vice-rector.

The author of the project, director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU Leonid Sumarokov presented the content of the exhibition, shared interesting finds and gave the floor to representatives of search teams from Russia and the descendants of pilots whose stories became part of the exhibition.

Among the guests of honor were military aviation veterans, military personnel of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of the Krasnaya Zvezda and Pamyat search clubs, cadets, students, teachers, students of military lyceums, museum employees and representatives of public organizations.

At the end of the event, the vocal studio KRSU presented the literary and musical composition "Fly". The evening ended with a group screening of the film "Chronicle of a Dive Bomber.".

The exhibition "Born in the Sky of the Tien Shan" became not just a cultural event, but a bridge between generations, designed to preserve and convey the memory of the heroism of those who fought for a peaceful sky above their heads.
