On Victory Day, May 9, in the village of Panfilovskoye, a solemn ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers was held at the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Ivan Panfilov — commander of the legendary 316th Infantry Division, famous in the battles near Moscow.
The event became an important event not only for local residents, but for the entire republic. The ceremony was attended by Vice-Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Azygaliev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Chui Region Kanat Dzhumagaziev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Albert Makhmetkulov, as well as General Director of the company «Leasing Express» Maxim Syshchikov.
The ceremony marked the completion of the first stage of a large-scale restoration of the monument, initiated by the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. Earlier, the acting rector of KRSU, Sergei Volkov, spoke in the media with a call to join forces to restore the historical site, which was installed in 1972 at the expense of local residents and has fallen into disrepair over the past decades. The call was heard: key support was provided by the investment fund Central Asia Capital, which became the main investor in the project.
Participants in the requiem meeting honored the memory of the soldiers of the Panfilov division with a minute of silence, after which they laid wreaths and flowers at the foot of the monument. At the end of the ceremony, a festive salvo was fired — as a symbol of gratitude and glory to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
«Today we do not just honor the feat of heroes. We are raising a new generation with these examples of courage. As long as we preserve such monuments —the connection of times is alive, our identity is alive», — Deputy Speaker Nurlanbek Azygaliev noted in his speech.
As part of the first stage of reconstruction, benches and lighting were installed, the monument was cleaned, and a bronze information plaque was made and placed. The production of the plaque from bronze, as well as cleaning, repatinizing and waxing of the monument itself, was organized by Ivan Dubrovin from Yekaterinburg, thereby ensuring a high level of restoration.
Ahead — continuation of reconstruction: the granite covering will be completely replaced, the park area will be expanded, a T-34 tank delivered from Russia will be installed, the monument «No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten» will be moved, a children's playground and a workout area will be equipped. The central element will be a thematic space dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, where the opening of the Panfilov Museum is planned.
Residents of Panfilovsky and participants in the requiem meeting expressed gratitude to KRSU and patrons. «When children come here with flowers, the heart rejoices. This means that it was not in vain that we survived all this», — shared home front veteran Aiturgan apa.
On the eve of the celebrations, KRSU students held an action «Victory Waltz» at the foot of the monument, performing poems and war songs, reminding everyone present of the spiritual strength of the generation of winners.
The ceremony in the village of Panfilovskoye was not just an act of memory — it again reminded of the importance of heroism, historical continuity and national unity.
