Panel discussion «Slavic University 2050: prospects and priorities»: the main thing
On October 12, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov arrived at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University of B. Yeltsin.
Employees of KRSU – acting rector Denis Fomin-Nilov, acting first vice-rector German Lotsev, acting vice-rector for information and public relations Leonid Sumarokov gave the distinguished guest a tour of the exhibition «Slavic is more than a university», which unfolded in front of the main building of the university.
Then a panel discussion took place in the large assembly hall of the main building of KRSU «Slavic University 2050: prospects and priorities» with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation V. Falkov, the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic D. Kendirbaeva, the Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation D. Gribov, acting Rector KRSU D. Fomin-Nilov, rector of Siberian Federal University M. Rumyantsev, rector of St. Petersburg Pedagogical University A. Rudsky, heads of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund A. Novikov, entrepreneurs and representatives of the business community.
The discussion participants discussed the prospects for the development of KRSU in the field of education, science and culture, issues of transformation and modernization – creation modern educational, research and social infrastructure, integration with industry and business.
The open dialogue provided an understanding of the development strategy of KRSU, opportunities and effective use of human resources in order to form the university as a leading educational, research and expert analytical center capable of competing with universities around the world.
The main thing from the report of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov:
«This year, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University adopted a development program and received additional funding. Given the importance of the teaching and teaching profession, the most important area of the program will be the training of teachers and educators for all levels of education (preschool, school, secondary vocational, higher and additional). These agreements – a new vector and a significant part of the development strategy of KRSU until 2030.
The second strategic guideline for the university is the training of engineering and medical personnel. These two areas are traditionally represented at the university and our task is to strengthen the training of future specialists in the very near future.
We will make every effort to ensure that the study of the Russian language and literature is represented even more widely. Let me remind you of the words of the great Chingiz Aitmatov: “If a person sacredly honors his language, he will never renounce knowledge of other languages. For Kyrgyz, these two languages are like two wings”».
Valery Falkov also addressed students, teachers, graduates and veterans of KRSU, which turns 30 this year.
«First of all, I thank the university staff for their dedicated, fruitful work. 30 thousand graduates of KRSU, who today work for the benefit of Russia and Kyrgyzstan – this is a serious and significant result, the merit of many generations of teachers. Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University – the project is unique. It has taken place and is developing thanks to the interest and constant involvement of the two states».
Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva she noted that the development of KRSU should be dynamic and comprehensive, covering all levels of education in the Kyrgyz Republic.
«There are about 300 schools in the Republic where Russian is taught. At the same time, there is a need to create a center for increasing the retraining of teaching staff for such schools. This could become one of the study programs developments of KRSU».
«I would like KRSU to become a flagship of innovations and become one of the most advanced universities in Kyrgyzstan. The head of state and government support the initiative to strengthen intercultural cooperation with Russia, so we will confidently carry out this work to achieve results» – said D. Kendirbaeva.
