The pedagogy of the future begins today: a new model of education was discussed in Bishkek
On October 3, a forum «Initiatives in vocational education: transformation of teacher education» was held in Bishkek, dedicated to the Day of Education Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic. The platform brought together heads of the country's leading universities, representatives of government bodies, international organizations, experts and teachers.
From the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, the forum was attended by Rector Sergei Volkov, Vice-Rector for Pre-University and Additional Education Elena Averkova and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Nargiz Baudinova.
The main topics of discussion were the reform of teacher education, taking into account the transition of Kyrgyzstan to a 12-year school system, updating educational programs, introducing digital technologies into the educational process and training specialists for the school of the future.
The Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic Baktiyar Orozov delivered a welcoming speech. He emphasized:
«Today there are 88 universities and 167 colleges in Kyrgyzstan, with more than 340 thousand students, of which 56 thousand — are foreign. This indicator demonstrates the demand and competitiveness of our education system. Human capital and its flexibility — the main resource for the development of the country. Our task —to bring educational programs into line with modern economic needs and strategic priorities for state development».
The minister noted the results of the latest reforms: approval of a national qualifications framework, expansion of university autonomy, promotion in international rankings, as well as the creation of modern scientific centers — from robotics and artificial intelligence to agricultural technologies and biomedicine.
At the end of the forum, an award ceremony was held for the best teachers and heads of educational institutions.
Among those noted are — Director of the College KRSU Inna Konovalova and Associate Professor of the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction KRSU.
The Forum has become an important platform for the exchange of experience and the development of solutions for the development of vocational education and training of personnel that meet the requirements of the future of Kyrgyzstan
