In the footsteps of Pyotr Semenov-Tyan-Shansky

The Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU has begun implementing a scientific project dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the traveler, scientist, public and statesman Pyotr Petrovich Semenov-Tyan-Shansky.

On the eve of the anniversary, which, based on the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, will be celebrated in 2027, the Center established interaction with the descendants of the first explorer of the Tien Shan and with the Russian Geographical Society in St. Petersburg. Center employee Nurlan Dosaliev carried out significant work in St. Petersburg to establish contacts with scientific and public organizations, creative intelligentsia involved in preserving the historical memory of the outstanding Russian.

During the video conference with St. Petersburg conducted by the University, the participation of all interested parties and structures in the implementation of large scientific plans to study the activities of Semenov-Tyan-Shansky was confirmed. The Historical Student Club «Berkut» will take an active part in this process, which will popularize the life and scientific feat of this scientist and citizen, who made not only important scientific discoveries in the Tien Shan, but also strengthened friendship between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
