The results of the monologue competition from the works of Ch.T. have been summed up. Aitmatova «The hardest thing for a person is to be a person day after day»
Institute of Russian Language named after. A. O. Orusbaev Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. The first President of the Russian Federation B. N. Yeltsin, from November 10 to 30, 2023, held a competition of monologues from the works of Chingiz Torekulovich Aitmatov «The hardest thing for a person to be a person day after day», dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kyrgyz writer, publicist and public figure.
The purpose of the educational competition was to attract the attention of schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan to the literary heritage of Ch. T. Aitmatova, expanding the reading horizons, identifying acting and performing skills, as well as promoting the development of imagination and enrichment of the child’s inner world.
Students of grades 5–11 of secondary schools of the Kyrgyz Republic with Russian, Kyrgyz and Uzbek languages of instruction were invited to participate in the event.
Students recited monologues from such works of the writer as «Early Cranes», «And the day lasts longer than a century...», «My poplar in a red scarf», «White Steamship», «The First Teacher», «Mother's Field», «Cassandra brand», «Jamila», «Mother Deer», «Soldier», «Farewell, Gulsars!» et al.
The total number of participants was 77 people – schoolchildren from Chui, Issyk-Kul, Batken, Talas, Osh, Naryn and Jalal-Abad regions.
The participants approached the reading of the monologues creatively; many with great understanding chose the image, musical accompaniment and scenery corresponding to the work.
Performances were assessed according to the following criteria: selection of a work, artistry of performance, use of means of expressive reading (logical emphasis, intonation, tempo, timbre, emotional-expressive coloring, diction) to realize the artistic concept of the author.
In general, the competition gave students interested in such a subject as «literature» the opportunity to think about universal human values and choose those excerpts from the works that evoked the greatest internal response in them, especially since Aitmatov’s work is voluminous and multifaceted.
