Polytech and KRSU: together to modernize engineering education
A joint meeting was held at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University with the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU), which is a strategic partner of the Polytechnic University. The working visit took place with the participation of Vadim Smirnov, assistant at the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, a delegation of KRSU led by Acting Rector Sergei Volkov, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
Slavic universities, as the participants emphasized, remain the most important mechanism for promoting Russian education and science in the regions of priority for the country. Polytechnic, in turn, provides them with comprehensive support — from conducting internships to forming an expert assessment of educational processes and jointly developing strategic decisions.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the results of the recent internship of heads of educational programs KRSU within the walls of the Polytechnic. Representatives of universities discussed possible ways to introduce best practices, as well as tools for adapting engineering programs to modern market requirements.
The expert group, which included vice-rectors, directors of institutes and heads of departments of the Polytechnic University, together with colleagues from KRSU, held a strategic session on the modernization of engineering education. Focus on — development of joint educational programs, technology transfer, digital platforms and the introduction of individual learning trajectories.
