Ambassadors of the Russian language to Kyrgyzstan (November 28 - December 6)
In the Russian Federation, an international youth program «Ambassadors of the Russian Language in the World» began operating in 2015, the purpose of which is to support and promote the Russian language outside of Russia. The peculiarity of this program is that its main implementers are volunteers from among students of Russian universities. In order to understand this feature, you need to know that volunteers – are people who voluntarily took upon themselves the performance of work that is significant, relevant and useful for society.
Volunteering today – is a unique opportunity to directly get acquainted with new countries, see with your own eyes the everyday life, way of life, customs of other peoples, realize the desire to learn other languages and at the same time introduce the residents of another country to the language, history and culture of their people.
From November 28 to December 6, 2015, a large expedition of volunteers from the Russian Federation was hosted by the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin. The delegation consisted of 20 student volunteers and 6 heads-professors of the Russian Institute of Russian Language named after A.S. Pushkin (Moscow). Volunteers had to carry out work in seven schools with the Kyrgyz language of instruction in the Alamedin and Sokuluk regions to develop Russian speech based on an experimental methodology for teaching Russian as a non-native language. Students of the Faculty of Humanities KRSU worked next to Russian volunteers in schools, who not only helped the volunteers work with students and improve their lives in new conditions, but also organized a large cultural program for them and a trip to Lake Issyk-Kul.
School teachers and parents of students followed the work of the volunteers with great interest. Volunteers conducted all classes with children in a playful way: they introduced their students to Russian fairy tales and songs, and folk customs. The result of the volunteers’ work was the holding of a final concert in each school, at which the children demonstrated to their friends, parents, and teachers everything they had learned from the volunteers.
Contrary to the well-known Russian proverb, which states that the first pancake is always lumpy, the first meeting with Russian volunteers turned out to be extremely successful and fruitful. This is confirmed by the enthusiastic reviews of school principals and teachers, the gratitude of children and their parents, who expressed a desire for more such educational and educational events with the participation of volunteers and for them to be longer.
Volunteers left our country, taking with them the brightest and brightest impressions of the people and nature of Kyrgyzstan, with promises to return here again to work on developing cultural and linguistic ties between our peoples.
Students of the Faculty of Humanities were also satisfied with their work and meetings with Russian volunteers. Personal contacts with Russian students awakened in them an interest in the volunteer movement and a desire to directly participate in it.
