Bekmyrza Madenbekov, representing the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, was among the finalists of the VIII International Reading Competition «Good Tale». Following the results of the qualifying stage, participants from 23 countries advanced to the finals.
The competition was organized by the Department of External Economic and International Relations of the city of Moscow together with the Moscow House of Compatriots. Its main goals are to support young theatrical talents among Russian compatriots abroad, popularize Russian literature and theater, as well as develop international creative ties between Russian-language educational institutions and theater groups.
The qualifying stage was held in a correspondence format. Participants presented video recordings of reading prose or poetic works in Russian in one of three categories: «Great Classics», «20th century» or «Recent Literature».
The final stage will take place from November 20 to 25, 2026 in Minsk (Republic of Belarus). The finalists will enjoy competitive auditions, master classes on stage speech, stage movement and acting from teachers of the Russian Institute of Theater Arts - GITIS, as well as a cultural excursion program and an award ceremony.
Participation in the competition is an opportunity to demonstrate the skill of artistic reading, deepen knowledge in the field of performing arts and exchange experiences with young talents from different countries.
We wish Bekmyrze good luck, confident performance and a decent result in the final! 🇰🇬
