Continuity of knowledge: how the Faculty of Medicine helps freshmen adapt

At the beginning of the 2023 academic year, the scientific and practical association «Na'Vi» (medical faculty KRSU) was replenished with 130 freshmen!

Senior students accepted into circle of the Department of Anatomy and OKHTA new participants in order to adapt to the university rhythm of life, mastering manual skills and unlocking creativity.

What is the success of «Na'Vi» and why is extracurricular activity beneficial for students? Anvar Beisembayev, deputy dean for scientific work at the Faculty of Medicine, founder of «Na'Vi», says:

–Working in a circle gives students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the structure of certain organs and organ systems, which is important for the subsequent study of clinical disciplines and the practical activities of a doctor.

Mastery of the basics of surgical interventions is an integral part of the daily work of any specialist doctor. During the classes, students master the methodology of scientific research and conduct independent scientific work. In the process of performing their own research, participants «Na'Vi» acquire the ability and skills to work with information sources, learn to evaluate the data obtained, present the results in the form of reports and publications, and gain experience in public speaking.

Thanks to extracurricular activities, first-year students improve their performance in basic subjects, and develop personal qualities important for the medical profession: respect for human dignity (through a humane attitude towards anatomical material), goodwill, hard work, patience, punctuality, honesty, collegiality, and the ability to work in a team.
