The press service of KRSU became a prize-winner of the 1st International Competition «Media-Nauruz»
The press service of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University won first place, as well as a special prize I International competition for the best media coverage of the university’s scientific activities in the field of altaistics and Turkology «Media-Nauruz».
5 October the Altai State University hosted a Media Dialogue between the universities of Greater Altai and Central Asia. The topic of the meeting was summing up and awarding the winners of the 1st International Competition for the best media coverage of the university’s scientific activities in the field of altaistics and Turkology «Media-Nauruz».
The competition, organized within the framework of the Altai State University project «Turkic world of Greater Altai: unity and diversity in history and modernity», received applications from the press services of ten universities and research centers in Central Asia.
The competition was aimed at assessing the work of the press services of Central Asian universities, revealing scientific research in the field of history and culture of the Turkic peoples of Central Asia.
Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations of KRSU Leonid Sumarokov, who took part in the Media Dialogue, noted the importance of the international competition in popularizing scientific discoveries made by scientists from Greater Altai and Central Asia.
By decision of the jury of the KRSU competition, first place was awarded for publication «Unfinished Linguistic Symphony by Evgeniy Polivanov», and a certificate was awarded for retraining by a press service employee at Altai State University under the advanced training program «Ethnoculture and modern art practices of the Greater Altai regions».
In addition, the information partner of the competition – TV channel «Greater Asia» – with a special prize noted video film «Russian State University for the Humanities and KRSU began preparations for the Year of the Russian Language» and posted it on its website.
«The works submitted to the competition are wonderful, and I think that this competition should be continued», – noted the head of the Altai regional branch «Guild of Interethnic Journalism» Oleg Kupchinsky.
The media dialogue ended with a discussion of plans for further cooperation between the press services of universities in the Central Asian region on the implementation of joint scientific and information projects.
An international competition for the best media coverage of a university’s scientific activities in the field of altaistics and Turkology for employees of press services and journalists of corporate publications of universities and scientific institutes of Greater Altai and Central Asia «Media-Nauruz» is held regularly with the support of «the Association of Asian Universities» and «Guild of Interethnic Journalism».
