Problems of modern medicine: the view of students of the medical department KRSU
On July 8, at the Department of Therapy №2 KRSU, a student conference was held dedicated to current problems of modern medicine – sudden cardiac death and hypertensive crisis.
4th year medical students discussed the causes and mechanisms of disease development, modern approaches to their diagnosis and treatment.
The conference consisted of two parts, after each of which the participants exchanged questions, and the mentors advised how to improve scientific work. The speakers were prepared by teachers of the Department of Therapy №2: Arzybay kyzy Aiturgan, Amina Dursunova, Shakhsyanam Khasanova, Rifat Davuzov and Tattybubu Karabekova.
At the first session, Meerim Bolotova and Sarvinoz Salimova made a presentation «Definition, etiology, pathogenesis, clinic of sudden cardiac death», as well as Malik Bakaev (report on diagnosis and emergency care in SCD).
At the second session, dedicated to hypertensive crises, Bogdan Sotnikov («Definition, epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis and classification of hypertensive crises») and Gunel Rzaeva (report on the management of patients with uncomplicated hypertensive crisis) presented their works. Anton Shushlebin made a presentation «Clinic, diagnostics and tactics for managing hypertensive crisis complicated by myocardial infarction and eclampsia», and Diana Igolnikova made a presentation on two other complications of hypertensive crisis – pulmonary edema and aortic dissection. Nursultan Maksutov and Vladislav Gulyaev presented their vision of the problem of hypertensive encephalopathy as a complication of a hypertensive crisis. The conference concluded with a speech by Aizat Zhusupakunova («Hypertensive crisis complicated by acute left ventricular heart failure clinic, diagnostics and management tactics») and a report by Aizhan Aralbaeva on unstable angina and myocardial infarction due to hypertensive crisis.
The event was actively attended by the head of the department of therapy №2, Professor Ibragim Sabirov, associate professors Klara Dzhailobaeva, Zulfiya Rajapova, Sofya Shakhnabieva and Jakhongir Mamasaidov. Teachers noted the importance of such conferences, emphasizing that at them students have the opportunity to exchange useful information, improve communication skills and develop clinical thinking.
