Professor KRSU spoke at the plenary session of the International Scientific Conference in Yakutsk

At the North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov (Yakutsk) the International Scientific Conference «Epic in the context of world encyclopedics», dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the scientist Vasily Nikolaevich Ivanov and anniversaries in the field of olonkhology, has ended.

KRSU was presented at the event by Doctor of Philology, Professor Bakchiev Talantaaly. During the plenary session, he made a report «Toponyms of North-Eastern Siberia in the epic “Manas”», presenting a comprehensive analysis of geographical names found in the epic and identifying their possible comparisons with the toponymic layers of the North Siberian territories.

The report aroused the interest of participants due to its emphasis on intercultural and historical-geographical connections traced through epic tradition.

Over the course of two days, the conference brought together epic researchers from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Abkhazia, Armenia and other countries. Scientists discussed current problems in studying the epic heritage, issues of its preservation, interpretation and presentation in the modern scientific and cultural space.

The event ended with a final plenary session and discussion of the key results of the sections.
