The Vice-Rector of KRSU spoke at an online discussion dedicated to the admissions campaign at universities 2022
August 17th in Juright Academy online discussion held «Hot Summer: 2022 admissions campaign progress». Vice-rectors and experts from higher educational institutions discussed how this year’s admissions campaign is fundamentally different from last year, which universities used marketing tools and what services they worked with.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Salavat Usmanov shared his experience of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. He noted that online learning affected the quality of training of applicants. «Time has passed since we taught teachers to switch to online platforms. Of course, students improved their knowledge in grade 11, but based on the results of nationwide testing, we see that the scores are significantly lower than before the pandemic».
The vice-rector of KRSU also said that there is a large shortage of students at universities in Kyrgyzstan, but KRSU managed to fill almost all the places. «Many educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic are forced to conduct a second intake. At our university, we successfully conducted the first enrollment in conditions of intense competition».
The expert said that a school and a college operate under KRSU, and shared the practice of enrolling students in a university after college. «After 9th grade, we accept young people into our college, which issues Russian certificates. Upon completion of college with honors, we consider enrolling in a university immediately for the second year».
