Pushkin Youth Online Marathon: the results of the event have been summed up
On June 3, on the eve of International Russian Language Day, the results of the youth online marathon were summed up «Pushkin is with us. Pushkin is eternal...», organized by the Institute of Russian Language of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin. The cultural and educational event was timed to coincide with the 222nd anniversary of the birth of the genius of Russian literature A.S. Pushkin. The main goal of the online marathon was to create a platform for realizing the creative potential of the younger generation and introducing students to Russian classical literature.
More than 140 students from secondary schools, college and university students of the republic, representing 35 educational institutions of the country, took part in the online marathon. The geography of the action covered the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Naryn, Kara-Balta, Shopokov, Kant, Kyzyl-Kiyu, Tash-Kumyr, Kadamdzhai, Mailuu-Suu, the villages of Chuyskoy, Issyk-Kul, Osh, Jalal-Abad, Batken and Naryn regions.
Students of the 5th – 11th grades of schools with Russian and Kyrgyz languages of instruction presented to the marathon organizing committee video recordings of Pushkin’s favorite poems, accompanied by recitations with music, photo and video illustrations. Along with the works studied as part of the school course of Russian literature («Winter Evening», «Nannies», «Winter Morning», «Monument»), students turned to Pushkin’s masterpieces, which they specially learned to participate in the action. One of the most frequently recited works by high school students turned out to be a novel in verse «Eugene Onegin»; Secondary school students often preferred the poem «Ruslan and Lyudmila» and «The Tale of Tsar Saltan».
For three weeks, from May 11 to June 3, video recordings were published on the account of the Russian Language Institute KRSU, which evoked a lively response from listeners. Each participant in the online marathon, having deeply felt the meaning of Pushkin’s lines, expressed his respect to the great master of the poetic word.
In the questionnaire for monitoring reader interests, which contained several questions on knowledge of the biography and work of A.S. Pushkin, schoolchildren reflected on the uniqueness of Pushkin’s poetry and its role in the modern world.
«Pushkin's poetry is remarkably multifaceted. He –national akyn!» – noted Jasmine Sagynbaeva (7th grade, secondary school № 27 named after. Zhoro Alimova, p. Ken-Zhylga, Alai district).
«Poems by A.S. Pushkin are unique, they are written in simple and understandable words, but with deep meaning», – says Kamila Esenova (7th grade, secondary school-gymnasium № 2 named after V.P. Chkalova, Naryn).
«All peoples appreciate and love Pushkin’s work, because the language of the great poet is understandable to everyone», – Zhyrgalbek uulu Erbol (8th grade, general education lyceum named after Zhaiyl Baatyr, p. Novonikolaevka, Chui Oblast).
«Pushkin found his way to the hearts of people of different cultures and religions», – wrote Gulbarchyn Baimatova (8th grade, secondary school № 1st grade. D.M. Karbysheva, Kyzyl-Kiya).
«Poetry A.S. Pushkin for us – a source of wisdom in poetry, prose, fairy tales, where good always defeats evil», – emphasized Mikhail Steblo (8th grade, secondary school № 5, Kara-Balta).
«Since childhood, we have been familiar with Pushkin’s work; his works become a part of our soul. He is close to everyone, like a good old friend», – emphasized Aruuke Eshmambetova (9th grade, secondary school № 18, Bishkek).
«Pushkin's poetry is brilliant in its simplicity. It is very natural, like life, peace and sun», – this comparison was made by Nurkyz Kubatbekova (9th grade, secondary school № 7th grade named after Kozhobek Kuzembaev, Tash-Kumyr).

«Pushkin’s poems remain relevant at all times, his works are read in different countries, and in our Kyrgyzstan the great poet is also widely known», – says Akmaral Tokusheva (10th grade, secondary school № 24 named after. E. Mamyrkanova, p. Issyk-Kul).
Youth poetry online marathon «Pushkin with us. Pushkin is eternal...», joyfully echoed by the voices of the younger generation, united school groups, cities and villages of Kyrgyzstan with the immortal Pushkin Word, once again filling our hearts «with good feelings».
The Russian Language Institute KRSU expresses deep gratitude to the Russian teachers of the republic’s schools, whose support made it possible to implement a large-scale cultural and educational project. The participation of schoolchildren and students in the Pushkin youth online marathon is marked by commemorative electronic certificates.
