Rector of KRSU: Kyrgyzstan and Russia are joining forces to modernize education
In Kyrgyzstan, active discussion continues on the possible transition to 12-year education. However, it is worth remembering that the education systems of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, formed back in Soviet times, have common standards, approaches and methodological solutions. In this regard, any changes must be carried out with caution so as not to harm the system. As Denis Fomin-Nilov, rector of the Boris Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, noted, it is necessary to talk not about reforms, but about modernization, improving the quality of education and its accessibility.
One of the key events in this direction was the past educational fair, which was attended by more than 100 representatives from various regions of Russia, as well as leading universities in Kyrgyzstan. According to Fomin-Nilov, the fair was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss common problems and approaches to solving them. He emphasized that the event, despite difficult weather conditions, was useful for all participants.
The rector also focused on the leading projects of KRSU presented at the fair. In particular, projects from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction, as well as the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology, which is engaged in environmental research in Bishkek, were demonstrated. In addition, an innovative project on bilingual teacher education was presented, aimed at training teachers capable of teaching in Kyrgyz and Russian with a practice-oriented approach.
The event took place on the initiative of the Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan and personally Minister Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, and was supported by the Russian Federation within the EAEU. Despite the difficulties with the organization due to weather conditions, the fair achieved its goals and showed that Kyrgyzstan and Russia have a common future in the field of education.
