The rector of KRSU discussed with the Secretary of State of the Kyrgyz Republic issues of preserving historical memory

A working meeting was held between the Rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Sergei Volkov and the State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Arslan Koychiev, dedicated to the issues of preserving historical memory.The meeting was also attended by the director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU Leonid Sumarokov. The main topic of discussion was preparations for the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War.It is noted that for KRSU this date is not only memorable, but also part of the systematic work of the university. University teachers and students conduct scientific research and publish articles, implement educational projects, and participate in international historical forums. Special attention is paid to student initiatives, including the development of the historical channel «Berkut», as well as the activities of the university theater, which creates productions dedicated to military themes.During the meeting, issues of preserving the memorial heritage were also discussed. In this context, the participation of KRSU in the restoration of the monument to Ivan Panfilov in the village of the same name was emphasized.
