The head of KRSU stated the need to modernize the university
On September 13, the acting Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ulanbek Usekov, introduced the new head of the university – Denis Fomin-Nilov to the staff of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU). The order appointing him acting rector of the university was signed the day before by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia Konstantin Mogilevsky and Acting Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulanbek Usekov.
The meeting was attended by vice-rectors, deans of faculties, heads of structural divisions of KRSU.
Introducing himself to the team, Denis Fomin-Nilov focused on the need to carry out accelerated modernization of the university in order to meet its modern requirements labor market. During the presentation he noted that the new strategy for the development of the university will be based on the creation of modern educational, research and social infrastructure, the formation of human resources, integration with industry and business, the formation of the university as an educational, research and expert analytical center capable of competing with universities around the world and contribute to innovative development. The solution to these problems will be subordinated to the interests of strengthening cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
«Slavic universities – this is a unique phenomenon in the educational space of the CIS. KRSU, being subordinate to two states, – Russia and Kyrgyzstan – acts as a guarantor of the best educational, scientific and cultural practices that can serve as the basis for the development of classical universities.
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has shown that it is capable of standing firmly on its feet. During this time, the university learned to talk with the state and society. Now, to develop further, changes and mentors are needed to help accelerate the transformation. I believe that KRSU has the potential to enter the top ten best Eurasian universities, and this is what we will strive for», – said Denis Fomin-Nilov.
Ulanbek Usekov noted in his speech that the leadership of Kyrgyzstan attaches special importance to the development of KRSU. According to him, this process will be facilitated by the appointment of Denis Fomin-Nilov, who has experience in management and scientific activities, to the post of head of KRSU.
In this regard, the head of the department of higher, secondary vocational and postgraduate education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Azamat Naimanbaev, announced the decision to carry out work to prepare for obtaining special status for KRSU, which will allow it to increase its potential and competitiveness.
