The Russian language strengthens educational cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan

The Russian language remains one of the key factors contributing to the development of humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk, speaking at the Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum.According to him, the Russian language is a common language of communication for the peoples of Eurasia and opens up wide opportunities for education, professional development and international cooperation.Russia continues to provide full support for the development of the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan. In the 2025–2026 academic year, 170 Russian teachers worked in the republic within the framework of the «Russian Teacher Abroad» project. The supply of modern educational materials also continues for educational organizations in the country: last year, 610 thousand adapted textbooks on the Russian language were transferred, and in 2026 it is planned to send another 671 thousand copies.Particular attention is paid to the development of educational connections. Today, more than 10 thousand students from Kyrgyzstan study at Russian universities. In addition, a large-scale project is being implemented to build nine joint secondary schools, the first of which are planned to open on September 1, 2027.Alexey Overchuk emphasized that the development of the Russian language and educational cooperation remains an important component of the strategic partnership between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, helping to strengthen humanitarian ties and expand opportunities for the youth of both countries.
