The Russian language lives in music!

On May 18, as part of the Russian Language Festival, 1st year master's students of the Russian Language Department KRSU held a musical and literary composition on the topic «The Russian language lives in music» with the participation of 2nd year students.

Guests and spectators at the evening were philologists of the 2nd and 3rd years of the Faculty of Humanities. The program of the cultural event included works by A. Pushkin and fragments from a poetic arrangement «Words about Igor’s Campaign» (translated by N. Zabolotsky), reflected in the music of M. Glinka, P. Tchaikovsky, A. Borodin.

The audience heard musical recordings from the opera «Eugene Onegin» (Lensky's Arioso), a romance «I remember a wonderful moment», fragments from the opera «Prince Igor» (aria «Yaroslavna's Lament», choir «Song of the Girls», «Polovtsian Dances»). The evening was decorated with a performance by 2nd year students Liliana Kilchurina and Ekaterina Knyazeva, who read «Tatyana’s Letter» (from the novel by A. Pushkin) and «Yaroslavna’s Lament» (from the poetic translation «Words about Igor’s Campaign»).
