Today, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor, Honorary Professor of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Oleg Andreevich Podrezov — an outstanding scientist and teacher who stood at the origins of the development of the meteorological direction in the republic and at KRSU celebrates his 90th birthday.Oleg Andreevich’s professional path is associated with the formation of a scientific school in the field of meteorology, climatology and applied geophysical research. He made a significant contribution to the formation of specialized education, the creation and development of departments, and the training of highly qualified specialists and researchers.A special place in his scientific activities is occupied by fundamental and applied research into climate loads in mountainous areas. The work carried out under his leadership made it possible to obtain unique data on the impact of hazardous meteorological phenomena on infrastructure facilities and found wide practical application. These studies have been an important contribution to the development of science and improving safety in difficult natural conditions.Oleg Andreevich — author of numerous scientific works and books, mentor for a whole generation of scientists, candidates of geographical sciences were trained under his leadership.
