Six volumes of the truth of history
On August 30, the presentation of the 6th volume of the collection took place at KRSU documents «Central Asian (Turkestan) uprising of 1916. History in documents», published by Kyrgyz –Russian Slavic University.
The event was attended by leading scientists of the republic, led by academicians Vladimir Ploskikh and Askar Kakeev, as well as journalists, archivists, librarians and writers of the republic. The guests of honor were Russian diplomats led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Andrei Krutko.
Rector of KRSU, academician Vladimir Nifadiev (aka —chairman of the editorial board of volume 6–) and academician Kakeev (deputy chairman of the editorial board) explained the super task of volume 6– and its presentation immediately before the 25th– anniversary of the independence of Kyrgyzstan. Goal — to present to the scientific community and the public the results of the work of the staff of the Slavic University on the implementation of the decree of President Almazbek Atambayev dated May 27, 2015 on the 100th –anniversary of the tragic events of 1916–.
For more than a year, in archival institutions of the Russian Federation, KRSU scientists, as they themselves say, searched for the most significant and documentary evidence of the tragedy a century ago.
Facsimile copies, which are over 300 identified documents, formed the basis of the first five volumes. Most documents are published for the first time. This is the peculiarity of the new edition.
—In conditions when some pseudo-scientists, manipulating public consciousness, for the sake of political conditions, tear out individual pages from the general context of the document and thereby distort the meaning and essence of the historical fact, the proposed option for presenting materials makes it possible to convey historical sources to researchers in a reliable form, — Academicians Nifadiev, Kakeev and Ploskikh emphasized in their speeches.
Thus, the university has created a unique documentary base. It will allow scientists, as well as anyone interested in this problem, to look at the history of the 1916 uprising with an open mind and an objective view.
According to the compilers of the collection, the documents presented reveal the picture and chronology of events, the dynamics of their development and consequences. Assessments and judgments of politicians, representatives of the tsarist administration, diplomats, reflected in official documents and personal diaries of various forms, indicate the ambiguous nature of the processes that took place on the eve and during the popular unrest.
The final sixth volume — is a kind of platform from which our contemporaries — scientists from Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Russia — give their own analysis of what happened. The scientific debate is illustrated with historical photographic documents conveying the atmosphere of life in the pre-war Semirechye and episodes of the Central Asian uprising, which coincided with the main stage of the First World War...
Lines from the 6-volume edition sound like an appeal to all Kyrgyzstanis: «Editorial board of the collection «Central Asian (Turkestan) uprising of 1916. History in documents» believes that the proposed publication will become a reliable help to scientists–historians in their understanding of the general tragedy of the peoples inhabiting the Turkestan region, and will help counter distortions and mythologize historical facts».
