The power of poetry

September 11 at the Russian House (g. Bishkek) a literary evening-meeting took place «Kyrgyzstan in Russian poetry and Kyrgyz poetry in Russian translations» with the poet, translator, literary critic Mikhail Sinelnikov.

The event took place within the framework of Festival «Kyrgyzstan-Russia: common cultural heritage».

3rd-4th year philology students of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University took part in a meeting with the Russian poet, and then shared their impressions of the creative evening.

Igor Shipka, 4th year student:

– The literary meeting left a lot of positive emotions, because Mikhail Isaakovich turned out to be not only a very pleasant and open person, but also an excellent lecturer.

Margarita Domanova, 4th year student:

– Meeting a famous writer – this is a real gift for philology students! Mikhail Isaakovich has an amazing ability to cover voluminous material and present it to the listener in an interesting way. His poems left a pleasant impression – they are filled with living colors and special symbols. I hope that there will still be many meetings with such wonderful people of art ahead!
