KRSU employees took part in the international conference of the Russian State University for the Humanities dedicated to historical memory and education
November 8th in Russian State Humanitarian University the International Conference «Historical memory and historical education in the post-Soviet space» was held.
The event was organized by the Institute of Eurasian and Interregional Studies of the Russian State University for the Humanities.
Representatives of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University – acting rector Denis Fomin-Nilov took part in the conference, director of the International Analytical Club «Issyk-Kul – Greater Eurasia» Ainura Kocherbaeva, doctoral student at the Department of History Victoria Ploskikh.
Acting Rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Denis Fomin-Nilov delivered a welcoming speech and report at the conference «The role and significance of historical knowledge in the formation of national identity and statehood».
Professor Ainura Kocherbaeva spoke in her message about the role of KRSU in the formation and revision of historical memory.
– The university provides students with extensive history and cultural programs that help them gain a deeper understanding of their own past and its relationship to world history. In addition, KRSU actively supports research projects aimed at revising old interpretations of historical events and stimulating new approaches.
Examples of such projects are studies on the influence of different cultures on the formation of Kyrgyz historical memory, analysis of the role of key events in the formation of national identity, studies of local archives and museums in order to shed light on little-known aspects of history.
As striking examples of KRSU’s research work on preserving historical memory, A. Kocherbaeva mentioned books authored by university scientists – «Russian ascetics in the history and culture of Kyrgyzstan», «Cultural scientists during the Great Patriotic War», «Stalingrad Diary of Kyrgyzstan», «Front Roads of People's Deputies», «Every heart beat like Brest!».
Associate Professor Victoria Ploskikh spoke about the activities of the scientific school KRSU «History of Kyrgyz-Russian relations», the creator of which is Vladimir Mikhailovich Ploskikh.
– Under the leadership of Vladimir Ploskikh, international complex archaeological expeditions were carried out and the historical and archaeological museum KRSU was created. In total, more than 300 scientific works-monographs, articles, manuals, and programs have been published on problems of history, culture, international relations and teaching methods at schools and universities.
